The vibrations of crystals have a countless amount of benefits for us and our energies. Many psychics and intuitives use them daily as part of their everyday lives and when seeing clients of those seeking their services.

For many in this field, crystals are an absolute necessity for several reasons which includes, enhancing their abilities and protecting themselves from unwanted energies including psychic attacks. Psychic Attacks may be considered to be bad or low energy directed towards you, either intentionally or not, that targets your emotional, physical, spiritual and/or mental well being. Ever heard the term “She was giving her the evil-eye”? or “Mal de ojo” in Spanish? Yes, this is based on just that. These attacks have been known to exist for centuries and there are crystals (and other techniques that don’t require crystals) that can help protect you from these sort of events.

Before I begin, I must say that before you attempt to do any sort of energy work, it is essential that you ground yourself. Grounding means you are present, centered and pretty much tethered  or connected to the earth and to the present moment, not drifting off into the future or past or into la-la land. A few ways to ground yourself includes:

• Walking barefoot on the grass or dirt outside
• Salt Baths
• Holding grounding crystals such as smoky quartz, black kyanite or garnet
• Breathing with a grounding affirmation such as “I am connected to mother earth. I am here and present”

Now that we have that out of the way, these are a few crystals that can serve either as psychic protection  or to increase intuition and some crystals will do BOTH (more bang for your buck!)

Obsidian is volcanic rock, which is pretty much glass (I’ll get to why that is important in a moment). This stone

offers psychic protection and increased intuition. It of a tool for many shamans when connecting with the other side. In many native tribes, obsidian mirror is used for scrying. Obsidian mirrors have been dated back as far as 6000 BC.  It is excellent for use in rituals and gatherings to which one wishes to call ancestors, guides and helping spirits. According to the Crystal Bible by Judy Hall, Black Obsidian forces facing up to one’s true self, taking you deep into the subconsciousness mind in the process. It bring imbalances and shadow qualities to the surface for release, highlighting hidden factors. To be even more specific, Rainbow Obsidian, is one of the gentle obsidian with strong protective properties. According to Judy Hall, it teaches you about your spiritual nature. This stone cuts the cords of old love and gently releases hooks that others have left in the heart, replenishing the heart energy. Worn as a pendant, Rainbow Obsidian absorbs negative energy from the aura and draws off stress from the body.

Amethyst is a stone of spiritual protection and purification. It helps quiet our thoughts and facilitates when moving

into a higher state of consciousness. Keeping an Amethyst piece in your scared space or where you do most of your energy work, helps keep the space clear for healing. This is also a wonderful stone for dream recall. I enjoy putting a piece next to my bed as it helps me when having intuitive dreams along with “shielding”, a protective bubble to keep away negative energies. From a very recent and personal experience, Amethyst is one of the stones that need cleansing often (especially with the current events…I’ll leave it at that). For me, when I wear amethyst that has gone a while without cleansing, I get headaches during the day and if sleeping with it at night, I get nightmares. So, cleanse your most used cyrstals as often as possible to keep them working in top condition.

Lithium Quartz is considered a pretty peaceful almost passive stone but a very strong crystal to help increase intuition. It assists in opening up all the chakras and helps open up an easier connection with your Higher Self and your higher mind and heart. According to the Crystal Bible, Lithium Quarts is a natural ant-depressant. Its powerful healing energies gently lift the conditions underlying the depression to the surface, neutralizing ancient anger and grief, Its is extremely useful as a healer for plants and animals.

Labradorite is one of my personal favorite stones. I love working with it and it’s overall energies. It is often called a gemstone of magic , and it awakens in those who carry or wear it the mental and untuitvie abilities which include but are not limited to clairvoyance, telepathy, astral travel, prophecy, psychic reading, access to Akashic recodrs, past-life recall, communication with higher guides and spirits. Placed on the third eye in meditation, Labradorite can facilitate visionary experiences of the future, the past and the many inner domains of time and timelessness. It is a highly mystical and protective stone. Labradorite aligns the physical and etheric bodies and accesses spiritual purpose. We have a few Labradorite pieces of our own Here and Here.

Fluorite can act a s a “psychic vacuum cleaner”, clearing the atmosphere of confusion, cluttered thoughts, negativity

and astral contamination. Itis a balancing the third eye and to mental energies in general. According to Robert Simmons from Book of Stones,  he breaks the following way:

• Purple Fluorite is ideal for purification and access of the mind to domains of Spirit.
• Black Fluorite is the ultimate astral cleanser.
• Yellow Fluorite magnifies the mental powers and enhances intellectual ability.
• Green Fluorite can cleanse and heal the heart chakra.
• Pink Fluorite cleanses and heals the emotional bidy and works to acitvate the “high heart” , or “seat of the soul”.
• Blue Fluorite  is good for the throat chakra, ensuring clear communication of one’s ideas.
